The history to the Founding of Solomon Independent School in Baray, Kampong Thom province in Cambodia dates back to to early 1990's with Mission trips made to help the poor and needy, praying for the sick and sharing the Gospel.
Solomon Independent is a non-profit school set up to provide education for the village children of Baray-a village in the middle of Phnom Penh & Siam Reap. It has grown from humble beginnings into a well-subscribed institution, fully licensed to run classes for children in the area. There are currently over 200 students enrolled at nursery, pre-school and other levels who are learning English, Maths and Khmer. The school compound provides a good space to run social and extra-curricular activities.
For SIS to continue serving the district of Baray well into the future, it is important for us to work towards a sustainable model of funding and operations. We are therefore reaching out to organisations and individuals who see the value in our mission and are keen to contribute in any shape or form.
Presently, some ways in which organisations and individuals like yourself could contribute include:
Teaching support in nursery, pre-school and English classes
Interaction with kids - e.g. story-telling, field trips, sports days
Provision of mobile clinics, talks on health and hygiene
Funding for school fees, activities
Donation of stationery packs
Training and development of local SIS teachers
Maintenance of school grounds
Fundraising activities.
